Suicide Jumper

I only remember snippets of this dream last night, but they feel ingrained in my mind like a memory.

A lounge setting with windows from floor to ceiling. The view was immaculate, one of the city. The sky was clear blue and the buildings were a sight to remember. My mom was with me, we were dressed up for a day out in the city, with the expectation to have a nice lunch. Clearly we ended up here on whim and it was not the desired destination. We were amongst wealthy people it seemed, all musicians of some sort. My mom was very uncomfortable and she made it very known to everyone in the room. She was yelling and wanted to leave right at that moment. I kept my cool, asked her to take a breath, and told her we needed to wait for the elevator as it was the only way to get back to the ground floor.

For some reason the elevator had a huge wait. There seemed to be a lot of people in this small lounge and to get in and out was a task in itself. I pressed the button waiting for the elevator. I was approached by one of the people in the lounge, I could tell he was the organizer of this gathering that was happening. He told me he liked my cool manner and how I didn’t lose my head because I didn’t like how things were going. My mom was still bellyaching around the room. He told me it would be a bit of a wait for the elevator and reserved a comfortable couch by the gorgeous view for me and my mom. I asked my mom to cut it out and try to make the best of the situation, we will get to where we are headed. We sit on the couch and I fall off the edge of the couch. I start laughing. I sit back down with my mom still complaining. Finally the elevator arrives and I jump to catch it. I’m yelling towards my mom to come to the elevator, but because we both aren’t there, the elevator door closes. Due to the high traffic on the elevators, the doors force close ensuring no one holds up the elevator. The host approaches and calls the elevator again in an attempt to help us out.

The control panel on the wall starts blaring red. I ask what is going on, thinking we will be trapped on this floor for hours to come. He assures me it just means that traffic on the elevators is higher than usual. Finally the elevator arrives, my mom is with me and I’m told you need 3 passengers to ride. Another person joins us.

Again, the number 3 appears.

We enter the elevator and press 1 as our destination. For a bit the elevator is able to see outside and we are able to see the view of the skyline during our descent. We exit the elevator at the first floor into a mall. It is huge. My mom is relieved to be out of there and I’m relieved for the tension to be gone. An old man approaches me. He looks to be a bit out of his mind. He is shaking, skittish and murmuring to himself. He approaches me and I notice that my mom and everyone around me has been frozen solid in their state. He whispers something to me. I am unable to recall what he has told me. Once he has finished whispering his message, he runs away frantic claiming he wants the voices in his head to stop. I look around bewildered wondering if anyone around me is witnessing the same scene as I am. Everyone is unfrozen, resuming their normal activities, making no mind towards this man. We are are on the second floor of the mall. This man climbs on the guard rail with the intention to jump. I yell to stop him, but it is too late. Without hesitation he throws himself over the edge. I scream, and it still takes everyone time to notice was has happened. My mom seems unphased. She says “Let’s go.” I run towards the ledge looking around frantic to see if this man who just jumped is ok. I see security and people gathering around his limp body and I see blood on his head. I immediately assume he is dead. I walk away with my mom thoughtful, wondering what the heck just happened….

Flash jump to a different scene. Its brief. I am in the city, inside a building on the ground floor and I know someone is outside waiting for me. I look around and see man in the shadows wearing a dark long coat and hat. He looks at me and then turns away. He tells me someone I know is thinking about me and looking for me. I look around outside eager to find out….

Then I wake up….
